George Kittle is enjoying the opportunity to face off against new teammate Leonard Floyd during practice. The San Francisco 49ers tight end recently discussed his excitement about having Floyd on the team, especially after competing against him for years when Floyd played for the Rams and Bills.

Kittle appreciates Floyd's versatility on the field, noting his ability to switch between different positions. This dynamic makes practice sessions more engaging for Kittle, who relishes the chance to collaborate and share insights with Floyd.

"What's really fun for me is getting to go up against Leonard Floyd," Kittle said via 49ers Web Zone. "Because, you know, you'll see him. He's in the three point, he's in the two point. He was an outside linebacker for the Rams and Bills and now, you know, has his hand in the dirt, but he kind of bounced between and getting to go against someone like that who I head-butted twice a year for like five years. It's kind of fun to have him on my team and just kind of talk shop with him."

Kittle also touched on the competitive atmosphere during practice, particularly with linebacker Fred Warner. With wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk absent from training camp, Warner has been looking for someone to challenge him. Kittle has taken on that role, often opting for silence instead of engaging in banter, which tends to frustrate Warner.

"It's been a little bit different for Fred just because his guy Dre Greenlaw's not out there right now ... So, the people's he's talking trash to would be either the running backs or occasionally me or [Brock] Purdy. He wants someone to talk trash to him, and I usually just give him the silent treatment, because it frustrates him. And that's kind of one of my favorite things to do, is to frustrate Fred Warner ."

This playful back-and-forth adds an interesting layer to the team's practice environment. Kittle's approach not only keeps things lively but also pushes Warner to elevate his game. The dynamic between these players highlights the camaraderie and competitive spirit within the 49ers as they prepare for the upcoming season.
