Jets Pleased With Aaron Rodgers' Mobility in Year 20

Aaron Rodgers has always been able to throw the football at an elite level. It's what has made him into the four-time NFL MVP and future Hall-of-Fame quarterback he is today.

One part of his game that gets overlooked, though, is his mobility in and around the pocket. His ability to scamper for clutch runs, or buy his offense time has allowed him to become one of the most talented throws of the football in history.

After tearing his Achilles last season with the Jets at 39 years old, the question of Rodgers' mobility was finally brought up. After all, how many 40-year-old quarterbacks have solid mobility in their 20th NFL season?

The reality is that it appears Rodgers looks to be put to his old bag of tricks with the New York Jets this season. And that also means his mobility is as close to it was before his gruesome injury in 2023.

"He's got plenty of mobility. He showed it in Carolina. He's been showing it in practice. It was really cool for him to do it again," Jets head coach Robert Saleh said. "You can tell that he's gaining more and more confidence in it because he's not afraid to run and leave the pocket. He's been doing it if you guys notice during our routes on air, during individual and group install, he manufactures off-schedule plays, just to make sure that, one; the guys are on their P's and Q's, and him, he's getting his work in, so the mobility's there. He's got plenty of mobility to create off-schedule."

For Rodgers to have most of his mobility back is huge for the Jets this season.

It shows that even with their quarterback being the oldest in the league, the team appears more than comfortable competing with some of the top clubs in the conference.

Especially if Rodgers can move like he did a decade ago.
