Much has been made about the dysfunctional relationship between Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and starting quarterback Jalen Hurts dating back to last season.

There have been some awkward answers and interactions with the media that might lead you to believe that there is a disconnect between the two.

On Thursday, Sirianni spoke to the media about the end of training camp and the things the team has accomplished this summer. In the process, he spoke very highly of his starting quarterback.

“I just feel like he’s had an outstanding, outstanding camp,” Sirianni said. “I’m really excited about where he is, just in complete control of the offense, delivering accurate balls, protecting the football. Man, he’s had a really, really outstanding camp.

“Taking what the defense gives him. Just what an unbelievable camp he’s had. I’m really excited for his year.”

With new coordinator Kellen Moore running the offense, Sirianni has been free to watch and observe. Hurts has been soaking in a lot of information during this camp and taking a lot of direction from Moore, a former NFL quarterback himself.

With one final preseason game on the docket for the Eagles, we are unlikely to see Hurts or most of the starters in this game as teams across the league try to get as many players on film as they can.

The Eagles are slated to take on the Minnesota Vikings in their final preseason tilt on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
