Urban Meyer Makes Opinion Of Florida State HC Mike Norvell Extremely Clear

After years of success at the collegiate level coaching. Urban Meyer has now stepped into the analyst world, and his opinion continues to carry a ton of weight when expressing his knowledge on the game. This week he exuded his opinion on Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell.

Meyer spent five seasons at Florida coaching the Gators and won two BCS National Championships in the process. Meyer was one of the most successful collegiate coaches throughout the 2000's. He had prominent success at Utah , Florida, and Ohio State before he ultimately stepped down, and made a jump to the NFL .

Nonetheless, Meyer still has that Gator orange and blue in his blood, and despite that, he still made his opinion of Norvell unbiased and extremely clear.

"I think Mike Norvell is one of the most underrated coaches. They were awful in 2020. I'm an old Gator, so I looked at that like, How did Florida State get so bad? But look what this coach has done. I really think he's one of the top coaches in America. I think they'll be there, standing in the top 10. I might even have them a little higher at the end of the season." Meyer said.

Florida State opens their season in Dublin, Ireland, Saturday, to kick off week zero against Georgia Tech , and after last season, when Norvell and the Seminoles felt they were disrespected after being left out of the College Football Playoffs, expect them to come out with a ton of fire with a chip on their shoulder.

However, they no longer have Heisman candidate Jordan Travis playing quarterback. This off-season, the Seminoles landed former Clemson and Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei , who will take the reigns at the position with high expectations surrounding the Florida State program.
