Paul Finebaum Says No Program ‘Wants Anything To Do With’ Elite CFB Coach

When the Oklahoma State Cowboys hired Mike Gundy as head coach in 2005, they had only achieved three 10 or more-win seasons in the program's history. Since 2010, Gundy has led the Cowboys to eight such seasons, including last year's 10-4 record.

Gundy has built a strong program, but he's best known for his off-the-field comments. These include his famous "I'm a man, I'm 40" rant from 2007 and his recent remarks about NIL, where he advised players not to have their agents contact them asking for more money during the season.

A caller on his radio show asked ESPN's Paul Finebaum whether he thinks Gundy's time at Oklahoma State has come to an end. Finebaum responded that he doesn't believe Gundy will leave because no other school in the country is willing to tolerate his behavior.

"I don't think he's leaving because I really don't think there's another school in the country that wants anything to do with Mike Gundy," Finebaum said.

Finebaum doesn't believe Oklahoma State will part ways with Gundy, especially not after this upcoming season. He believes the Cowboys could contend for the College Football Playoff and the Big 12.

Ultimately, Finebaum concluded that Gundy's act is becoming rather "stale." Therefore, although he may survive this year, it remains to be seen what will happen in Stillwater in the future.
