Pat McAfee Show Reveals Location For Week 1 Of College Football

While many fans know Pat McAfee for his time as a punter for the Indianapolis Colts, he is also known by fans of the West Virginia Mountaineers. McAfee kicked and punted during his time in Morgantown from 2005-08. For his efforts during the 2007 season, McAfee was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award.

West Virginia has a big game with the Penn State Nittany Lions in Week 1, and that is where "The Pat McAfee Show" will be. The West Virginia product announced the news on a recent show edition.

McAfee was very excited about the opportunity to have the show in Morgantown. He claimed the 2024 season opener will be the most important since 1998.

"...Our show will be live in Morgantown, West Virginia, next Friday," McAfee said. "Right before Penn State tries to walk in Morgantown and get a home opener. Biggest home opener for the West Virginia Mountaineer football team since 1998. ...They don't even understand what these Morgantown faithful are gonna be like."

West Virginia has a lot of returning talent this season. Quarterback Garrett Greene, running backs CJ Donaldson and Jaheim White, offensive tackle Wyatt Milum, and tight end Kole Taylor are just some of the top talent back for 2024.

Penn State will not be a slouch, either. The Nittany Lions come into the matchup ranked eighth. James Franklin has returning talents, such as quarterback Drew Allar, running back Nicholas Singleton, running back Kaytron Allen, and linebacker Abdul Carter.

The Nittany Lions have a five-game winning streak against West Virginia dating back to 1989. The two programs met last season, with Penn State coming out on top 38-15.

Kickoff for this season's showdown will be on Aug. 30 at Noon ET on FOX.
