Indiana Fever Coach Shares Her Unfiltered Thoughts on Aliyah Boston

Caitlin Clark has been the big headline for the Indiana Fever throughout the 2024 WNBA season. Still, their other No. 1 overall pick, Aliyah Boston, is a huge piece of the championship puzzle.

Since joining the team in 2023, Boston has made her presence felt on both sides of the ball, earning an All-Star appearance in both of her WNBA seasons.

In a recent social media post from the Fever, coach Christie Sides conveyed her strong opinion on the former South Carolina Gamecocks star with nothing but positive things to say.

"From the time she's stepped foot here with us, she's just a solid presence," Sides said. "A great leader. Always positive. Wants to win more than anything. Those are the kind of players that we want."

It took a few games for their chemistry to gain momentum, but Clark and Boston have become one of the league's most dynamic duos, and their recent play is proof of that. With the three-headed monster of Clark, Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever could make a run to the postseason and beyond.

In her second season with Indiana, Boston has played and started in all 28 of their games. She is averaging 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 30.6 minutes per game. She is also making 52.7% of her shot attempts, the second-highest on the team behind Temi Fagbenle, who has missed a majority of the season due to injury.

The Fever have gone undefeated since their return from the Olympic break, with wins over two playoff contenders: the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm. They have moved to 13-15 and own the seventh seed in the WNBA playoffs.

Boston and Indiana's next test will come on Saturday, August 24, at 8:00 p.m. ET against the Minnesota Lynx.
