The Texas A&M Aggies are now just eight days away from getting started on the 2024 campaign when they host Notre Dame under the lights at Kyle Field next Saturday night.

As we move closer and closer to the season , there seems to be an interesting narrative forming around the Aggies. For those who have been paying attention, the rapid rate at which the program seems to be improving is undeniable, but what this team can accomplish under Mike Elko in year one remains a question.

For those not paying attention, however, it's hard to erase the stink coming off a 7-6 season in which the head coach was fired . In that sense, the Aggies may very well be underrated headed into 2024. Andrew Stefaniak , host of the LockedOn Aggies podcast, argued during an appearance with Chris Gordy of LockedOn SEC that the Aggies certainly could surprise people this season and win more games than many think they are capable of.

"You got a healthy Conner Weigman for the start of the season, a quarterback who many in college football aren't talking enough about," Stefaniak said . "You've really fixed the issues you had last year in the secondary. Coach Elko nails it in the transfer portal. Texas A&M is a football team that a lot of people are writing off...this is an underrated football team that I really think can win more football games than many expect."

We will have a more formal answer as to whether or not the Aggies are underrated or not very soon, but for A&M fans, it can't come soon enough.
