Commanders Jayden Daniels' Work Ethic 'Through The Roof' In Camp

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been hitting all the right notes so far this offseason, but it hasn't all happened by chance.

Since being drafted, Daniels has put his nose to the grindstone with much being made of his early starts and late-night finishes as he looks to have a positive first NFL season.

For offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, working with a rookie quarterback means that the initial install of the offense takes time, but when it comes to Daniels, he's been different gravy learning the system.

“I mean throughout camp your install in preseason is to really run base stuff and see if we can win [versus] man coverage and see if we can win up front, on our blocks and our double teams and things like that,” Kingsbury said . “So once we get to the game planning we'll kind of see what we feel like we can handle and who we are as a team once the final roster set and how we maximize those guys. But as far as handling the install, Jayden's been fantastic, I mean his work ethic is through the roof and gets here early, stays late, and must study it all the time because he's been on point.”

Such has been Daniels' rise throughout preseason with his impressive drives in games; the Commanders named him the starter (cue shocked face) as he is the one to take the franchise into a new era.

Of course, all of the positive things have happened in preseason, so we wait with anticipation to see how Daniels fares against real NFL competition when he faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.

But based on everything we've seen and heard throughout training camp, there's little to suggest that Daniels will be anything other than "on point" in his first NFL season.
