Fans Convinced Chicago Sky Sent Message To Marina Mabrey With Violent Flagrant Foul

More than a few fans are convinced that there's some brewing tension between the players from the Chicago Sky and former teammate Marina Mabrey, who was traded to the Connecticut Sun a month ago.

Mabrey had her wish granted by the Sky after she demanded a trade away from Chicago. The Sun sent Rachel Banham, Moriah Jefferson and two future first-round picks to the Sky in exchange for Mabrey.

On Friday, Mabrey faced off against her former team for the first time since the trade. It didn't take long before there was some action between Mabrey and her former team.

Towards the end of the first quarter, Chicago guard Chennedy Carter was assessed with a flagrant foul after delivering a pretty hard hit on Mabrey.

That hurt. What's even more noteworthy is how Carter coldly walked away from Mabrey after the foul without any remorse. At this point, fans are even more convinced that Carter and the Sky were sending Mabrey a message here.

"Total punishment for bailing on the team," a comment said.

"Yikes! Carter showing us how she feels. Mabrey was cookin’ too!" a fan stated.

"I guess she’s a Marbery hater now," a response read.

"Wonder why Mabrey wanted out of Chicago…" reacted a viewer.

"Very intentional! Should have been a flagrant 2! Carter and Coach Witherspoon laughing on the sideline as the refs were looking at replay monitor! The entire Sky team are ghetto thugs!" surmised a fan.

"She has to stop listening to TSpoon, she treats her like a crash test dummy. She probably told her to do that to her," suspected a supporter.

Love her or hate her, what you can't deny about Carter is that she's a no-nonsense type of player. Obviously, there's no love lost between Carter and Mabrey.
