Pat McAfee Earns New Nickname From Desmond Howard Before College Football Season

On the eve of the first episode of ESPN's "College GameDay" for the 2024 season, Desmond Howard issued fellow "GameDay" star Pat McAfee a brand new nickname.

McAfee joined the fold on "GameDay" over the last couple of seasons and has certainly added a spike of character to the show. So, when asked to name the best karaoke performer on the show, Howard had a quick answer for the man he calls...

"Pat McAfee is Mr. Entertainment himself," said Howard. "Full of energy, full of life."

He added that if forced to pick a karaoke partner for a rap song, especially one by the artist Jeezy, McAfee would be the man.

Plus, after McAfee's latest antics in Dublin, Ireland on "The Pat McAfee Show," that nickname makes too much sense. He was knee-deep in the black stuff on live TV.

McAfee and his gang are enjoying the festivities out in Ireland ahead of Saturday's Florida State vs. Georgia Tech game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. local Dublin time and noon ET back stateside. Not only does the matchup start Saturday's slate of Week 0 games, a fairly light one at that, but FSU and GT will be the first FBS schools to kickoff in what is set to be a historic 2024 season.

Of course, "College GameDay" will be live from Dublin Saturday, several hours before the start of the game to ring in the new season.
