World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler Has Meltdown At BMW Championship

Fresh off of a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler is looking to stay hot.

Unfortunately for him, he isn't having the ideal showing at the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. After the second round, he finds himself T-No. 29 in the tournament, and his highlight of the day on Friday was actually more of a bad beat.

A lowlight that resulted in him exploding with rage, as the video is now making its rounds on social media.

How did he get to this point?

After a drive that went 367 yards and ended up in the rough, Scheffler needed to get one over the water from 187 yards out. His ball ended up in the water, and it became evident after he took his next shot from the drop spot that his frustrations had boiled over.

Scheffler's fourth shot on the par-4 No. 10 hole didn't go as he had planned as it landed left of the green. The broadcast picked up his outburst as he tried to make sense of what happened when talking to his caddie, Ted Scott.

“Is that not an upslope," Scheffler asked. "“Seriously? How is that possible?”

However, he didn't stop there, as the broadcast showed him screaming just seconds later.

"How," Scheffler asked before blowing up. "How?! How is that possible? How is that possible?”

It is unclear if Scheffler was upset with Scott or if his caddie just happened to be near him during the outburst. Finishing the hole with a double-bogey likely didn't help out with Scheffler's frustrations.

There is still technically time for Scheffler to rebound, but it would be quite the comeback.

While he isn't loving how he is performing in Denver, he has still had quite the past few showings. He finished T-No. 7 at The Open back in late July, won gold in Paris and followed that up with a No. 4 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week.

His outburst is about as relatable as it gets for those who partake in golf recreationally and will certainly continue to make its rounds on social media.
