Ex-NBA Player, NCAA Champion Shares Emotional Reaction To Chennedy Carter's Hit On Marina Mabrey

The Connecticut Sun took down Angel Reese, Chennedy Carter and Kamilla Cardoso's Chicago Sky in a marquee matchup Friday night that resulted in an 82-80 Sun win.

The game was punctuated Cardoso and Reese's history-making performances along with a punishing hit by the Sky's Carter on her former teammate Marina Mabrey.

Carter picked up a flagrant foul for the hit, causing a former NBA shooting guard and NCAA champion with the North Carolina Tar Heels to respond with an emotional comment on X.

"She ruff ain't she," ex-Minnesota Timberwolves and North Carolina Tar Heels guard McCants said along with a laughing and crying emoji in response to the hit, sharing video of the incident with podcaster and ex-NBA player Brandon Jennings.

Carter led the Sky with 19 points on the night, followed by a career-high 18 from teammate Kamilla Cardoso and a 13-point, 20 rebound effort by Reese.

The Sky have a day off on Saturday before traveling home to the Windy City for a matchup with A'ja Wilson and the defending champion Las Vegas Aces on Sunday at noon ET.
