Rory McIlroy Roasted After Embarrassing Club Throw Into The Water

Even the best golfers in the world can have bad days.

On Friday, it was PGA star Rory McIlroy who was struggling on the links, shooting a one-under 71 in the second round of the BMW Championship. After one of his errant drives, a tee shot over water, McIlroy let the frustration get the best of him and ended up throwing his 3-wood into the pond in front of him.

It was a pretty weak throw, though, and barely reached the water in the end, which left McIlroy the subject of many jokes on social media for his half-assed toss.

Here's a look at the club throw, and some of the ridicule that McIlroy saw afterward.

McIlroy ended up retrieving his club before walking on down the fairway to his ball, so there was no harm in the end.

After two rounds, Adam Scott is leading the BMW Championship with a score of -13 after shooting a 9-under 63 on Friday. Keegan Bradley currently sits in second at -10.
