The New York Knicks had a solid draft back in June, and one of their more intriguing rookies could be one of their second-round picks.

In a recent article by Fred Katz of The Athletic , he reports that Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is a massive fan of Marquette point guard Tyler Kolek, and was pushing for the Knicks to draft him.

This year's draft class featured point guards such as Stephon Castle, Rob Dillingham, Jared McCain, Nikola Topic, and more. But Thibs thinks that Kolek could turn out to be the best of them.

A few of the guards in this year's draft are great shooters, and a few of them are elite passers, but Kolek is both. His versatility could lead the Knicks to use him in many different ways on offense in his first year with the team, making him even more valuable than anyone could have predicted.

Kolek averaged 15 points, five rebounds, and just under eight assists per game in his senior season at Marquette. This combination of scoring and passing led him to be one of the best point guards in college basketball, and could lead him to make an impact on the Knicks in his rookie year.
