The Florida State Seminoles and their fans were furious that they did not make the College Football Playoff last season. Starting quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury against North Alabama just before the regular season ended. The team used backup QB Tate Rodemaker in the ACC Championship. Rodemaker then suffered an injury against the Florida Gators, leaving third-string QB Brock Glenn as the starter.

On "College GameDay," Nick Saban commented on Florida State's playoff snub. The Alabama Crimson Tide punched their ticket after beating the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship, but Georgia also did not make the playoff.

The playoff consisted of The Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, Washington Huskies, and Alabama.

Saban said he was glad Alabama got in and believed Florida State should also have been in the playoff. Saban told Florida State fans that he had nothing to do with the Seminoles' exclusion from the playoffs.

The former Alabama head coach believed the 12-team playoff would prevent that.

"You know, Florida State, I just want Kirk to know I got 1,000 phone calls when we got in the playoff," Saban said. "He didn't have anything to do with them not getting in the playoffs, and I didn't either. But we both got hammered. I'm glad we got in, and they probably should've gotten in too. At least we won't have that situation this year."

After not making the playoff, Florida State lost to Georgia in the Orange Bowl. After a disappointing end to last season, Florida State faces the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin.

Kickoff is at noon ET on ESPN.

Four teams or twelve teams or fifty teams doesn't make any difference. There will always be at least one team that will be pissed off because they should have gotten in.
