ESPN's Pat McAfee didn't mix words when breaking down the Big Ten and issuing a stern warning to a specific college football powerhouse ahead of their week 1 matchup in Morgantown, West Virginia.

McAfee is a prime supporter of his alma mater, West Virginia, and whenever he has the opportunity to flaunt that support, he doesn't miss, and he didn't on week zero's addition of " College GameDay ."

"Penn State's got a monster week 1, so everything could change in the Big Ten conversation after one day in Morgantown, West Virginia." McAfee said.

McAfee spent four seasons at West Virginia and was a key part of a lot of their special teams operations. He had a long and successful career in the NFL as one of the league's best punters during his time.

Now, he talks football and supports his Mountaineers. West Virginia is a team to keep an eye on this season. Opening the season with a tough matchup against the Penn State Nittany Lions will go a long way toward seeing how they match up against other top-tier talent.

Neal Brown looks to take the next step as the programs head coach and get the Mountaineers back to relevance. Garrett Greene returns as the team's quarterback, and having some consistency may turn out well for the Mountaineers.

Last season, Greene threw for 2,406 yards, 16 touchdowns, four interceptions, and maintained a 75.8 QBR. He has the skillset to be a very unique and impactful collegiate quarterback, and with many returners, he may just take another step forward.
