As ESPN’s “College GameDay” kicked off its 38th season from Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, fans couldn’t help but notice the Week Zero broadcast had a different vibe than in years past.

Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban officially joined the “CGD” crew, and it wasn’t lost on folks that he was sitting in the seat traditionally occupied by Lee Corso, prompting social media to begin speculating that the show was hinting the seven-time national champion will be replacing the 89-year-old Corso, who may feel should retire.

Known for his wildly entertaining headgear and trademark catchphrase "Not so fast, my friend," Corso is synonymous with “College GameDay," having been a mainstay of the show since its inception in 1987.

Corso's absence from the first show of the 2024 season immediately caught fans’ attention.

The former Louisville and Indiana head coach did not travel with the crew to Ireland, but he is expected to return next week at College Station for the Texas A&M-Notre Dame matchup.

It is time for Lee to move on out. He has had a great run but the sun is setting.
