Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban set the record straight on Deion Sanders and his son, Shedeur Sanders, during College GameDay in Dublin, Ireland.

Colorado opens the season with extremely high expectations. When you have coach Prime, there will be standards, and after missing out on a bowl game last season, the Buffaloes are looking to right the ship.

However, they will face FCS powerhouse North Dakota State week one, which will be a good early season challenge. Shedeur Sanders is viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in the country and, by some, is a prominent Heisman candidate, and Nick Saban is a fan.

"Prime is doing a great job at Colorado. His son is a great quarterback, and I think that'll be the difference in the game, and I think they'll take the next step in terms of a team this year and start out with a win the first week." Saban said.

Before coach Sanders took over the job, Colorado was one of the worst programs in the Pac-12. A job that many were not seeking. However, Sanders, despite going 4-8 last year, made a ton of progress from where they were two, three, and four years ago.

He went out and recruited, brought back a bulk of talent, and really focused on manning up the inside along the trenches, which was their weakest link last year. Shedeur Sanders was the nation's most-sacked quarterback. He was brought down 52 times in 2023. Over a 12-game span, that is astonishing.

With Shedeur and Travis Hunter , who may be the best duo in the entire country, leading the way, Colorado has a fighters chance against anybody. They don't lack skillful position players and pure talent. But entering a conference like the Big 12 with a lot of talented teams, it will only get harder and more competitive.
