Miami Marlins Injury Report - August 24th

The Miami Marlins (46-82) have just 34 games remaining this season. They have officially clinched a below-.500 season with their most recent loss, and still look firmly toward the future.

Soon, the Marlins could be getting some of their better position players back from injury, though their best pitcher remains sidelined until 2025.

Day-to-Day

SS Xavier Edwards

Edwards (lower back discomfort) exited Friday's game before the top of the third inning. Edwards injured his back on a successful steal attempt in the first inning.

Edwards will undergo imaging this weekend to determine if an injured-list stint will be necessary.

10/15-Day Injured List

OF Dane Myers

Myers (left ankle fracture) has added an anti-gravity treadmill to his workouts in Jupiter, Florida. He is still expected to return before the end of the season.

60-Day Injured List

LHP Braxton Garrett

Garrett (2-2, 5.35 ERA; left forearm flexor strain) threw 25 pitches in his second bullpen session on Friday. He is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on August 27th. Garrett is expected to return in September.

LHP Ryan Weathers

Weathers (3-5, 3.55 ERA; left index finger strain) threw 30 pitches in his second bullpen session on Friday. He is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on August 26th. Weathers is expected to return in September.

LHP Josh Simpson

Simpson (left elbow ulnar neuritis) is scheduled to throw one inning in a rehab appearance on Saturday with Triple-A Jacksonville. It will be his sixth rehab appearance. Simpson is expected to debut before the end of August or at the beginning of September.

RHP Sixto Sanchez

Sanchez (0-3, 6.06 ERA; right shoulder inflammation) threw 15 pitches in a bullpen session on Friday. He is expected to return in September.

RHP Eury Perez

Perez (right UCL tear) will be evaluated to begin a throwing program in the coming weeks. He will not return this season.
