The Philadelphia Phillies (74-54) continue to search for answers as their second-half slump continues into its second month. With an offense that has been struggling compared to their first-half production, as well as the backend of the rotation being a revolving door, the Phillies need something to spark them back into their first-half levels of production.

With two of their players returning from the injured list this weekend, the Phillies may just get the spark that they are in dire need of. This is the latest injury news and updates for the Philadelphia Phillies.

    10/15-Day Injured List

    OF Austin Hays

Hays (left hamstring strain) made his return to the Phillies lineup on Friday against the Kansas City Royals (72-56). Hays would go 1-for-4 in his return.

Before his return, Hays was sidelined with his injury since August 7th. He was beginning to heat up at the plate prior to his injury, and the Phillies are hopeful that he can find that groove once again.

Manager Rob Thomson said that Hays will have days off occasionally over the short term as he ramps back up to playing every day.

Outfielder Cal Stevenson was optioned to make room for Hays on the 26-man roster.

    LHP Ranger Suarez

Suarez (10-5, 2.87 ERA; lower back soreness) has been activated from the 10-day injured list to make his return on Saturday. One of the better pitchers for the Phillies this season, the club is hopeful that Suarez can return to form and help solidify the rotation down the stretch.

Tyler Gilbert was optioned to make room for Suarez on the 26-man roster.
