Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles and his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, who is also an Olympian in Track and Field, have been in a relationship since 2022.

Despite Lyles' larger-than-life persona on the track, Bromfield remains unfazed by his theatrics, focusing instead on the person he is off the field.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Lyles explained how Bromfield's perspective keeps him grounded.

“Of course, I have a very large personality,” Lyles said. “But having people who I feel are grounded around me and having a good support system keeps me closer to, hey, I have a great talent and it is seen in the public as a great thing, but at the end of the day, I'm just a normal human being.”

Lyles revealed that Bromfield's ability to separate his track persona from who he truly is makes him love her even more.

“Something that she says that truly makes me fall in love with her every time is, ‘I don't really look at his personality on the track.’ That's not the guy that she says she likes,” he shared. “Every time she says that, I think I fall more in love with her because eventually I'm not going to be a track and field runner. And if she got caught up in that personality, I think I would be a little sad because it is just for the track.”

The couple, who live and train in Florida, have shared many of the same stages in their careers but prefer to keep their relationship private. Lyles emphasized that their mutual respect for each other's accomplishments doesn't alter how they see each other.

“We’re both Olympic medalists, we’re both two-time Olympians... but we don’t let our accolades really change the view of how we see each other,” Lyles said.
