Mick Schumacher recently learned he would not be driving for the Alpine F1 team in 2025 through a social media announcement.

This news came as a surprise to him, especially after participating in tests with Alpine alongside Jack Doohan, who has now secured a seat with the team.

Schumacher's uncle, Ralf Shumacher, expressed disappointment over the way the situation was handled, suggesting that a direct phone call to Mick would have been more appropriate before the public announcement.

He was quoted by GP Blog saying:

"That's just not possible at all."

Despite this setback, Schumacher remains focused on his career. Currently a reserve driver for Mercedes and competing in the World Endurance Championship, he is determined to keep pushing forward.

"At the end of the day, for my part, I am not giving up. There are still two seats open and we have to keep working and keep pushing. For us, it's just a matter of keeping pushing and keeping working. Hopefully with a good result at the end of the year."

With two seats still available at Mercedes and Sauber (which will become Audi in 2026), Schumacher is hopeful for future opportunities. He has also been linked to a potential seat at Sauber alongside Nico Hulkenberg.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Schumacher to see if this setback can lead to a strong comeback. He is committed to making a return to Formula 1 and is prepared to wait for the right opportunity.

Speaking about the idea of a return to F1, Schumacher previously stated to the media, through Planet F1 :

“It is important for me to return to Formula 1 to show what I can do.

“My chances in Formula 1 seem to be pretty good so far. At the moment, Formula 1 is within reach.

“I have to make sure that I don’t become too confident, that I keep going and make sure that there is a plan B in case it doesn’t work out.

“My plan was always Formula 1, now we have to wait and see what opportunities present themselves to me. I will wait for Formula 1 as long as necessary.”

In other news, the qualifying results for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix are as follows:
