Kevin Garnett Says Philadelphia 76ers Star is Better Than Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo will go down as one of the best players in history when all is said and done. He has won an NBA Championship with the Milwaukee Bucks and is also a two-time MVP.

Also, it is easy to forget that Giannis is still just 29 years old. He might just be entering his prime on the court. Now, that is a scary thought for opposition teams.

There is so much more that Giannis could achieve. The last couple of seasons have not been kind to the Bucks though.

The Bucks are coming off of back-to-back first-round playoff eliminations. And with the East only getting more competitive, their Championship chances look slim ahead of the 2024-25 season.

One of the teams that seems to have moved ahead of the Bucks in the pecking order is the Philadelphia 76ers. And Kevin Garnett believes that Joel Embiid is better than Giannis right now.

While speaking on a recent episode of TICKET & THE TRUTH , when Paul Pierce asked if Giannis was the best player in the East, Garnett replied: "You can’t say that with Embiid over there, can't say that. And with Jayson Tatum over there."

Further, when Pierce said that he would take Giannis over Embiid, Garnett could not help but burst out laughing.

Of course, it is hard to make these comparisons. Both Giannis and Embiid are top players.

The one thing that Giannis has over Embiid is the fact that he has won a Championship. The 76ers superstar cannot say that. Yet.

The 76ers are being considered one of the favourites to win the ring next season after adding players like Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson and more this summer.

The most important thing for Embiid next season will be staying healthy. If that means sitting out a good number of regular season games, so be it. If the 76ers are to indeed make a run at a Championship, they need him to be at his best.

KG is correct. With his skills there is not one player that can stop him when he is healthy. Even the other NBA players know this.
