UCLA football is entering a new era as it prepares for its first season in the Big Ten Conference. After nearly a century in the Pac-12, the Bruins are adjusting to a more competitive landscape following the departure of former head coach Chip Kelly, who took a position at Ohio State.

DeShaun Foster has stepped in as the new head coach, tasked with leading the team through this challenging transition.

The Bruins face a daunting schedule, which many consider one of the toughest in college football. Their season kicks off with a matchup against the University of Hawaii, a game they are expected to win, setting a hopeful tone for the season.

However, the challenges ramp up quickly. Following the opener, UCLA will take on Indiana at home, followed by tough road games against LSU and Oregon, both of which are strong contenders for the College Football Playoff.

Indiana presents the best chance for a win in this stretch, but they have bolstered their roster significantly during the offseason.

After what could be a rough start, with a potential record of 1-3, the Bruins will travel to Penn State, a notoriously tough environment.

They will then host Minnesota before heading to Rutgers. Beating Minnesota at home is crucial, but Rutgers will not make it easy for them.

By midseason, UCLA could find itself at 2-5, with five games remaining. The final stretch includes matchups against Nebraska, Iowa, Washington, USC, and Fresno State. Realistically, the Bruins may only secure one more victory, likely against Fresno State.

In summary, UCLA is expected to struggle in its inaugural Big Ten season, potentially finishing with a 3-9 record. Foster will need to focus on recruiting and development in his second year to help the program become more competitive moving forward.
