Stephen A. Smith Doesn't Hold Back On The Spun's 'Most Annoying Media' Bracket

Stephen A. Smith is not happy about a rather unflattering list of sports media personalities. The veteran ESPN commentator shared as much as he took some time from his show to address a newly released media bracket ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Recently, sports website The Spun dropped a media bracket naming the "most annoying people in football media." Smith was actually one of the two No. 1 seeds in the bracket, along with Skip Bayless. Other popular commentators, insiders and talking heads that made the list include Nick Wright, Charissa Thompson, Shannon Sharpe, Adam Schefter, Tony Romo, Pat McAfee and Colin Cowherd, among many others.

The bracket basically pits the media personalities against each other, with voters choosing who's more annoying between them. The first round of the bracket has already been decided, with Smith moving on to the second round.

Voters found Stephen A. more annoying compared to Greg Olsen.

After seeing the bracket battle, Stephen A. Smith didn't hold back in slamming it and pointing out why it's "trash" in his opinion.

"Most annoying people in football media, that's what this is about. I don't know how the hell I ended up in that list, but let me say this for a couple of things: To The Spun, your list is trash, your bracket is trash," Smith said on Friday's episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show.

While Stephen A. doesn't understand why he's a top seed in the bracket battle, highlighting his belief that he's a loveable person, he emphasized he's not really bothered by being included in it. Nonetheless, what he found ridiculous that personalities like Thompson, Cowherd, Wright and Olsen even made it there.

Smith described Thompson as "gorgeous" and "smart," so he doesn't see why people would get annoyed with her. Similarly, Stephen A. noted that Cowherd is an "elite storyteller" who doesn't have a "vicious bone" in his body, making it questionable why people even find him annoying.

Stephen A. went on to defend Wright, whom he said has earned a lot of "respect" in the industry.

Clearly, Stephen A. won't take any disrespect toward him and his peers lightly.
