Lakers News: Nike Drops Exciting Commercial for Kobe 9 Protro Shoes

Nike is set to release the second edition of its Kobe Bryant "Halo" collection , honoring the late Lakers legend during Mamba Week. This new addition, the Kobe 9 Protro EM Low "Halo," was developed in collaboration with Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's widow. The first shoe in this collection, the Kobe 8 Protro, launched earlier this year.

To promote the new release, Nike has created a commercial featuring Kobe Bryant in action, both during games and in practice. The ad showcases his dedication to improvement and hard work.

The commercial also highlights a group of children watching the video while wearing Bryant's jersey, culminating in a reveal of the new Kobe 9 shoes. These shoes feature a bright "Triple-White" colorway, symbolizing purity and aligning with the collection's name.

Constructed with engineered mesh and dynamic Flywire, the Kobe 9s also display Bryant's signature and his unique emblem from his initial partnership with Nike in 2003. The shoes will be available for purchase on August 23, which would have been Bryant's 46th birthday, priced at $240. Fans can find them on Nike.com, the Nike SNKRS app, and select retailers.

Additionally, a low-top version of the Kobe 9 will be released on September 19 for $210. Both styles are expected to be in limited supply, likely leading to quick sellouts. Fans who miss out may have to turn to resellers, who will likely charge a premium for these sought-after shoes.
