Isaiah Spiller's future with the Los Angeles Chargers is uncertain as the team prepares for the final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

With the regular season starting on September 8, the Chargers must finalize their 53-man roster, and Spiller, a former fourth-round draft pick, is at risk of being cut.

David Kenyon of Bleacher Report believes Spiller will be the player to be cut just before the 2024 season.

"Easton Stick's future will be cloudy if Cleveland moves on from Huntley, who previously played for now-LA offensive coordinator Greg Roman," wrote Kenyon. "Hypothetical aside, the Chargers likely will release a running back. Isaiah Spiller, a fourth-round pick in 2022, looks to be falling behind Kimani Vidal and Jaret Patterson as the last two backs."

Despite being with the Chargers for two seasons, Spiller has struggled to secure a consistent role in the running back lineup.

He has recorded just 137 rushing yards on 55 attempts and has yet to score a touchdown, averaging only 2.5 yards per carry over 15 games.

His performance has been overshadowed by other backs on the roster, including Kimani Vidal and Jaret Patterson.

Spiller's college career at Texas A&M was impressive, where he rushed for nearly 3,000 yards and scored 25 touchdowns in three seasons. He also contributed in the passing game with 74 receptions.

Spiller was also named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman Tema, 2020 Doak Walker Award Semifinalist, 2020 All-SEC First Team, 2021 Coaches' All-SEC Second Team, and 2021 AP All-SEC Second Team.

However, his transition to the NFL has not mirrored that success, and with a new coaching staff in place, his time with the Chargers may be running out.

As the preseason wraps up, Spiller faces a critical moment that could determine his future with the team.
