Before Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever defeated the Minnesota Lynx 81-74 on July 14, Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who also served as head coach of Team USA's women's basketball team, was less than thrilled to answer questions about the superstar rookie.

Following the uproar over Clark not being included on the Olympic roster, ESPN's Myron Medcalf asked Reeve her thoughts on the No. 1 overall pick earning a spot on future national teams. "Why the hell would I answer a national team question?" Reeve told Medcalf . "I'm wearing Lynx. And I'm the head coach of the national team but I'm not the chair of the committee. Anybody want to venture into anything else?"

When Indy Star's Chloe Peterson asked Reeve about the large contingency of Iowa Hawkeye fans expected at the Target Center, “I don’t give two s****” she said with a laugh. When prompted, “I don’t give one s***.”

All eyes were on Reeve as she answered pregame questions about the Lynx's rematch against the Fever on August 24, during which WNBA legend Maya Moore's jersey retirement ceremony will also take place. Reeve was so complimentary while discussing Clark, fans did a double-take.

One fan replied , "Who is this and what did you guys do it with Cheryl?" Another fan commented , "Whooooaaaaaa she changed." One woman added , "Wow…I’m Speechless…."

Reeve said of Clark, "The single best thing that she does that other players don't do is play at an incredible pace. And pace can get you really, really far... I know the sexier part is the logo 3, but the pace and the passing is what makes her exceptional in my mind."

Reeve also spoke about the unprecedented impact Clark's had on WNBA attendance, a phenomenon that started while she was still a senior in college. "You're all standing here, I don't think it's just for Maya Moore's jersey into tho rafters," Reeve noted. "[Clark's] became a road show... and I don't remember seeing that in my time.

"We've wanted a player or a league that can transcend some of these spaces and have a road show [much like the NBA]... Clark and some of the other rookies give us that, obviously Caitlin being a headliner."

Reeve was also asked what it was like having both Clark and Moore in the building, as Moore is the rookie's all-time favorite player. "I wish one was playing for us — either one," she answered.

It was a jersey retirement that turned into a CC presser. That is so disrespectful. You wanna know why CC is so "popular", its because the media throws here into EVERYTHING. She should have never been brought up there. Maya did not get the respect she deserves because of the CC insanity. That is why lots of people have an issue with this CC craze. Its not jealoysy when blanant disrespect like this is shown to the great ones the have paved the way for her to be here. For those that dont see that, it shows that you dont care about the game at all.
