Breanna Stewart Makes New York Liberty History vs. Connecticut Sun

Reigning WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart continues to set herself apart as one of the game's greatest players.

During a matchup against the Connecticut Sun on Saturday evening, Stewart became the fastest player in New York Liberty franchise history to record 500 made field goals. The six-time WNBA All-Star reached this historic mark in her 68th game with the Liberty.

"@breannastewart is climbin' the ladder! Fastest in franchise history to reach 500 FG," the Liberty wrote on X.

Unfortunately for Stewart and the Liberty, this franchise-record performance came in a 72-64 loss to the Sun. Stewart finished the game with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Despite this loss, the Liberty still hold the No. 1 spot in the WNBA standings. The New York squad is 25-5 — 2.5 games ahead of the Sun in 2nd place.

Stewart and the Liberty will look to bounce back in a matchup against the Phoenix Mercury on Monday night.
