The Detroit Tigers delivered a commanding performance against the Chicago White Sox, winning 13-4 in a game that showcased both offensive power and some pitching struggles from their ace, Tarik Skubal .

Skubal, who is a strong contender for the American League Cy Young Award, faced challenges on the mound, allowing three runs over five innings while throwing 88 pitches.

Despite his rocky outing, the Tigers' offense stepped up in a big way, scoring eight runs between the third and fourth innings to secure the victory.

The Tigers took an early lead with an RBI single from Andy Ibañez in the first inning. They then broke the game open in the third, starting with a solo home run from Matt Vierling.

The team continued to pile on the runs, with contributions from Colt Keith, Jake Rogers, and Parker Meadows, extending their lead to 5-0.

In the fourth inning, the Tigers capitalized on walks and timely hits to score four more runs.

Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson added to the score, and Rogers capped off the inning with a two-out single, bringing the score to 9-3.

The White Sox managed to score their fourth run in the seventh inning, but the Tigers responded in the ninth with two home runs—one from Keith and another from Zach McKinstry—to finalize the score at 13-4.

With this win, the Tigers improved to 64-66 and have a chance to reach .500 for the first time since early June if they can secure victories in the remaining games of the series. The White Sox, meanwhile, fell to a dismal 31-99.

Overall, the Tigers' offensive display, combined with Skubal's ability to recover after a shaky start, highlighted a strong team effort as they continue to push for a better position in the standings.
