After an historic night for WNBA icon and former Minnesota Lynx star Maya Moore , NBA legend LeBron James was quick to pay tribute to her greatness over social media Saturday night. The Lynx raised Moore’s number 23 jersey to the rafters, which is the same number James has played the bulk of his career with.

The Lynx came out victorious against the Indiana Fever , and after the win, they took the time to retire Moore's jersey in the rafters with an emotional ceremony.

James took his message to social media. Two of the most Influential trail blazers over the last decade for the game of basketball.

"CONGRATULATIONS 23!!!!! Absolute LEGEND!!" James posted on X.

One thing James and Moore share outside of the jersey number they wore is the amount of championships they both have. Moore's four championships came across eight seasons in the WNBA, all for the Lynx.

However, James wasn't the only one paying homage Saturday night. Rookie Caitlin Clark , who was facing the Lynx, made sure to show her respect to Moore as well.

Clark was seen rocking the customized warm-up shirts for Moore that the Lynx put out for the players. She also spoke about how impactful Maya was to her growing up.

"She was the person for me growing up," Clark said.

The former UConn star was drafted in 2011 and went on to have an historic career in all facets. A six-time all-star, 2014 MVP, three-time all-star game MVP, and one of the best scorers of the last ten years.
