Quarterback Kyle Trask , often criticized in the past, delivered one of his best performances in a Buccaneers uniform. Trask completed 17 of 24 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns, displaying impressive accuracy and poise in the pocket. His connection with tight end Ryan Miller was particularly noteworthy, as the pair linked up for one of Trask’s touchdown passes. Wide receiver Tanner Knue also shone, hauling in a touchdown reception that drew comparisons to Mike Evans for its skill and precision. Trask’s night could have been even better, with a potential third touchdown slipping through the hands of receiver Cody Thompson.

While Trask stole the spotlight, Baker Mayfield and the starting offense, minus key players like Mike Evans and Lavonte David , also looked sharp. Mayfield, in limited action, showed no signs of rust as he efficiently led the first-team offense. Jalen McMillan made one of the standout catches of the preseason, and Vita Vea delivered a dominant performance on the offensive line, nearly overpowering the Dolphins’ center on one play.

The Buccaneers’ ability to finish the preseason without any significant injuries to their starters is another positive as they shift their focus to the regular season. With this win, the team appears ready to compete for the division title and make a deep playoff run.

The Buccaneers now turn their attention to their home opener against the Washington Commanders , looking to build on the momentum from a strong preseason performance.
