The St. Louis Cardinals (64-65) will look to win the series on the road today with the rubber match at Target Field against the Minnesota Twins. St. Louis struggled offensively on Saturday as they were shut out 6-0 to allow the Twins to even the series.

Sunday, August 25th: Erick Fedde vs. Zebby Matthews

The Cardinals will go with Erick Fedde (8-7, 3.39) on the hill for the finale. Fedde is coming off one of his better starts since being traded to St. Louis from the Chicago White Sox, however, that game was at Busch Stadium. In the four starts since Erick Fedde was traded, he has posted a 4.98 ERA. The split is interesting however as he has a 2.53 ERA at Busch Stadium and a 7.36 ERA on the road.

The Twins will look for one of their young rising pitchers to take another step forward in the finale on Saturday. Zebby Matthews (1-1, 3.60) will make his third start of his MLB career against the Cardinals. In each of his first two starts since his debut, Matthews has gone five innings and allowed two earned runs. He is known for his very low walk rate in the minor leagues and has only walked two batters since the jump to the Majors across his first ten innings of work.
