Stanford Basketball Releases 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule

Stanford basketball is entering a totally new era, with a new head coach and a new conference home. This season represents the first step into a completely different future, but the ACC games themselves aren't the only ones that matter. Stanford's first games under new coach Kyle Smith will be non-conference matchups, so let's take a look at the newly-announced non-conference slate.

The season is set to open on November 4th with a home game against Denver, kicking off a run of five consecutive home non-conference matchups before a road trip to Santa Clara. Stanford will then play a neutral-site game against 2024 March Madness fan favorites Grand Canyon, and later on, another neutral matchup against Oregon.

It's strange to see the Ducks listed as a non-conference opponent, a product of conference realignment across college sports. However, it's great to see both programs doing their part to preserve classic Pac-12 matchups, and that game- the last non-ACC game Stanford will play until any potential postseason play- is sure to be one of the most-anticipated of the season for the Cardinal.

Stanford struggled to a 14-18 record last season, their final in the Pac-12 as well as their last under head coach Jerod Haase. They'll look to take a major step up with Smith at the helm and secure their first winning campaign since the COVID-altered 2020-21 season.
