Angel Reese Called Out for Aggressive Move Against Her Own Teammates

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is one of the most exciting rookies to watch in the WNBA. Reese, who set a league record for the most consecutive games with a double-double (15), also became the first player to record back-to-back games with 20 rebounds.
Against the Las Vegas Aces on August 25, Reese extended her own historic WNBA record, registering a third consecutive game with at least 20 rebounds. Personal records aside, after losing three of four games since returning from the Olympic break, the Sky headed into Sunday's matchup against the Aces at Wintrust Arena looking to get a much-needed win.
While Reese is an aggressive defender, fans questioned her tactics against the Aces, as she was pushing her own players into their opponents. In the second half, she pushed Michaela Onyenwere into Aces' Tiffany Hayes, who left the game with an injured knee.
One viewer commented , "Angel Reese pushes Michaela Onyenwere, she flops and takes out Tiffany Hayes knee. Chicago Sky playing dirty."
A fan posted , "I like Angel Reese but she really has to stop pushing players in the back under the basket. She’s done it twice in 2 mins hurting Tiffany Hayes the 2nd time." One woman simply asked , "Why is angel reese pushing her own players?"
Another person wrote , "Angel needs to calm down with the pushing under the basket! Two plays in a row that players have fallen. Her competitors and teammates could get hurt frfr and nobody wants that."
The Aces-Sky matchup ultimately came down the wire, with Las Vegas star A'ja Wilson sinking the game-winning basket as the clock expired.
During the Sky's 77-75 loss, Reese finished with 11 points, 21 rebounds, and 1 assist. Next up for Chicago a home matchup against the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, August 28.
