Could Eagles' Parris Campbell Be Cut?

In the wake of the Philadelphia Eagles trading for Washington Commanders former first-round receiver Jahan Dotson, could Parris Campbell be on his way out?

Campbell was selected No. 59 overall in the second round by the Indianapolis Colts in 2019. His first three years were nothing to write home about, but his fourth year he broke out with a career high 63 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns.

Last season, he signed with the New York Giants, who had trouble keeping their quarterbacks upright, and his production fell off a cliff catching just 20 passes for 104 yards.

He signed with the Eagles this offseason to compete for the No. 3 receiver position behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Campbell has been slowed by a groin injury in camp and finishes the preseason with just 2 catches for 3 yards. Campbell was asked on Saturday night if he thought there was still a place for him on the roster.

“I don’t know. That’s a question that I don’t know,” Campbell said. “But at the end of the day I do know that no matter who you are, if you’re on the team or not, you gotta earn your keep every day.”

Teams around the league have until Tuesday to prune their roster down to 53.
