Former college football head coach Nick Saban knows a thing or two about the game, and when he talks, people listen. On College GameDay this weekend, Saban dropped the player he believes is an "all-time sleeper" for the upcoming season.

Over the last 17 years at Alabama, Saban won the national championship six times with the Crimson Tide. He sent 133 players to the NFL , including 47 first-rounders.

However, his first national championship came with the LSU Tigers in 2003, and 21 years later, he believes the team in Baton Rouge is severely underrated. Especially quarterback Garrett Nussmeier .

"I think Garrett Nussmeier is going to be one of the all-time sleepers in college football this year at QB. LSU always has skill guys. They're talking about all the receivers they lost -- you could shake a tree in Louisiana and them guys would fall out." Saban said.

This is the first year that Nussmeier is going to get a real opportunity with the Tigers. He has spent the last three seasons as backup for LSU, who would make occasional appearances. But the red-shirt junior now has the keys to Brian Kelly's offense.

Nussmeier made his first career start against Wisconsin at the beginning of 2024 in the ReliaQuest Bowl and showed all the glimpses LSU fans needed to see to pave the way for him this season. He completed 31 of 45 passes for 395 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-31 win.

Now, Nuessmeier has the keys with plenty of talent surrounding him, and Nick Saban is making sure the world knows who to keep an eye on this season.
