Anthony Davis made a notable appearance as he walked alongside Floyd Mayweather Jr. for his rematch against John Gotti III in Mexico City. The Los Angeles Lakers center joined Mayweather as they entered the ring, setting the stage for an eventful night.

Davis , who recently helped the U.S. men's basketball team secure a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, contributed an average of 8.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and two assists per game during the tournament.

This fight marked Mayweather's return to the boxing ring nearly seven years after he last fought, completing his professional record at 50-0.

Since retiring, he has participated in several exhibition matches, including a previous bout against Gotti that ended in controversy when the fight was stopped in the sixth round due to a referee's decision.

In the rematch, Mayweather faced more drama than just the fight itself. After receiving a penalty for an illegal punch in the second round, he engaged in a heated exchange with the referee, leading to a change in officiating mid-fight.

After referee Hector Afu penalized Mayweather for an illegal punch in the second round, Mayweather got into a verbal altercation with Afu and appeared to dismiss him from the ring. After Afu left the ring, a new referee entered to handle the remainder of the fight, which was organized by Mayweather's promotional firm.

Despite the distractions, Mayweather emerged victorious, but the night was filled with more than just boxing action. The presence of Davis and the unfolding events kept fans engaged throughout the evening.
