The Seattle Storm will be without their rookie guard for a critical game against the Washington Mystics.

The Storm returned from the extended break for the Paris Olympics by dropping their first two games, but got back on track in an 83-77 win over the Mystics on August 20. Seattle now hosts Washington for an August 26 game that will give them a chance to solidify their spot above the Las Vegas Aces in the standings.

But the Storm will have to play without rookie Nika Muhl, who has been ruled out of the game for undisclosed personal reasons. The team took to X to announce the lineup change on Sunday.

The Storm selected the former UConn star in the second round of this year's WNBA Draft, though she has struggled to make the same impact she had at the collegiate level. Muhl is averaging just 2.6 minutes per game and has yet to register her first points in the WNBA, missing all six of her field goal attempts.

It was not clear when Muhl would return to the Storm.
