Skylar Mays, a free agent guard from the Los Angeles Lakers , is drawing interest from EuroLeague club Olimpia Milano, according to Alessandro Maggi . The Italian team is looking to finalize its roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season, and Mays is a key target.

Standing at 6-foot-3, Mays played 17 games for the Lakers during the 2023-24 season after signing a two-way contract in January. He averaged 1.3 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in about 4.5 minutes per game, shooting 47.6% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.

Mays began his professional career in 2020 when the Atlanta Hawks selected him in the second round of the NBA Draft.

He initially signed a two-way contract with the Hawks, splitting time between the NBA and their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks.

Just before the 2022-23 season, Mays was added to the Delaware Blue Coats roster. However, months later, he was traded to the Capitanes de Ciudad de México (Mexico City, Mexico) in exchange for Jahlil Okafor, Shabazz Napier, Bruno Caboclo, and Matt Mooney.

Over the years, he transitioned to a standard NBA contract and played for various teams, including a stint with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he averaged a career-high 8.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in the 2023-24 season.

Before entering the NBA, Mays had a successful college career at Louisiana State University, where he earned multiple accolades, including All-SEC honors. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists during his time at LSU.

As Mays explores his options, his next move could significantly impact his career trajectory.
