U.S. gymnastics icon Simone Biles usually projects a very lively and cheerful persona on her social media channels. However, every so often, the 27-year-old allows her fans to get a sneak peek at the real Simone, so to speak.

This appears to have been the case in the wee hours of Sunday morning as Biles took to social media to share an honest admission about her current mood. The 11-time Olympic medalist went on Threads at around 1:00 a.m. local time to express how she isn't exactly in the best state in terms of her emotions -- at least at that point in time.

"sad girl hours," Biles posted .

The fans were quick to provide Simone with some comfort under the assumption that she was feeling down so late at night. Some supporters could not help but feel a bit worried for the gymnastics icon.

"Hope you are okay," read a comment.

    "Are you ok?" asked another.

"Oh no ma’am. Pick that head up and keep taking over the world!" a fan said.

"It’s okay. Let it out. Let me send you lots of hugs and comfort. I’m here for you, no matter what.🤍🫶🏾😢🫂🤗," a reader reacted.

"Lots of company. Nights are tough- Sundays seem to be the toughest sometimes. And some post-Paris blues. The sun will shine again. ❤️" said another.

Biles is no stranger to mental health issues. In 2016, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as a kid. In the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, she was forced to pull out of the competition altogether after suffering the "twisties," which is an unexplained phenomenon that leads to gymnasts losing coordination mid-air.

Through it all, however, Biles has remained strong. She returned to the Olympic stage in Paris, and she proved that despite her issues, she is still the top gymnast in the world.

At this point, the fans are just hoping that her fortitude and the support system she has around her are able to help her get through whatever she might be dealing with right now -- big or small.
