Alex Caruso says NBA2K ‘finally’ pays him his respect with 2K25 rating

With the latest iteration of the popular “NBA 2K” series set to release on September 6, “NBA 2K25” ratings have begun trickling out amid a series of trailers and the build-up to the game’s launch.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are among the top-rated teams in this year’s title after coming off a 57-win season and an offseason with sparkling changes. Among the new names in OKC is Alex Caruso, one of the most exciting-to-use defenders in the video game in recent years.

AC reacts to his 2K25 rating

A common summer pastime for players is to react to their rating ahead of the video game’s release each year. Some even go so far as to take their rating as an assessment of where they need to improve their game. But for Caruso, it sounds like he had not been thrilled with how he’s been rated in the last few releases of the title until he learned his NBA 2K25 rating.

“I saw that the other day,” he said of his 2K25 rating while chuckling . “Somebody either [posted it on X] it or I saw it on Instagram. Good for [NBA]2K. Good on them [for] showing [me] some love, finally.”

In this year’s game, Caruso has an overall rating of 82 and trails Jrue Holiday for the top perimeter defense rating with a 94. Both marks are the highest since he first debuted in the NBA2K series in “NBA 2K18.”

The 2024–25 NBA season is an opportunity for another step up for Caruso, who is set to make his Thunder debut in October. As player ratings are reassessed throughout the year, AC can boost his rating into the mid-80s with another star-caliber campaign.
