Texas A&M Aggies Rise into Top-10 of Prominent Poll

The misfortune of one team has led to the great fortune of the Texas A&M Aggies , at least in one prominent media member's power ratings.

Florida State lost a shocking week zero game to Georgia Tech which was played across the pond in Ireland, something that will lead to a major shakeup in every major poll as the Seminoles were ranked top-ten to begin the season.

Josh Pate of the Late Kick has already released his new ' JP Poll ' for week one after the huge development, and the already highly-ranked Texas A&M Aggies climbed even higher. Pate had the Aggies ranked higher than most polls did when he put them at No. 13 in the preseason version with the Seminoles at No. 9. But following the loss for the Seminoles as well as what Pate described on his show as 'positive camp intel' for the Aggies, Mike Elko's team jumps all the way up to No. 10 in the week one edition.

Pate has explained repeatedly after visceral reactions to his poll that he refers to them as 'ratings' not 'rankings' , meaning that they are solely based off which team he believes would be favored by Vegas if the two met on a neutral field.

Ironically, the Aggies play a team which they are two spots behind on Saturday in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but Kyle Field will be anything but neutral under the lights on Saturday night for the first game of the Mike Elko era .

According to Pate, this is now a top-ten matchup in College Station .
