Georgia Tech Lands Huge Recruiting Win Days After Florida State Upset

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stunned everybody by defeating Florida State in the Week 0 opener in Ireland.

The Yellow Jackets won, 24-21, thanks to a clutch field goal by Aidan Birr. It was a massive win for Georgia Tech and a crushing loss for Florida State, especially with the Seminoles being pegged as a top-25 team and a favorite to win the ACC.

On Monday, Georgia Tech got more good news with a big commitment. Class of 2025 four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett announced his decision to join Georgia Tech, per a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Garrett then quote tweeted the X post and said, "AGTG!! I’m home."

The four-star recruit was originally committed to Georgia. However, he backed out of his commitment on August 11.

Georgia Tech and Tennessee were other programs Garrett had been considering when he decided to join the Bulldogs.

Garrett plays high school football at Prince Christian High School in Bogart, Georgia, so he decides once again to stay in his home state for college.

Prince Christian High School is just over an hour away from Georgia Tech, so Garrett does not have far to travel for his next program.

Garrett is ranked as the No. 7 DT in the class, per ESPN, and adds more talent to Georgia Tech's recruiting class.

After backing out of his Georgia commitment, he lands at Georgia Tech just days after their stunning upset over Florida State. All in all, it has been a great few days for the Yellow Jackets.
