The NBA 2K25 video game is set to be released on September 6, 2024. If you pre-order the game, you get to play two days early.

The game will be featuring Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum as the cover athlete, who is fresh off an NBA title, a gold medal in the Olympics, and a $315 million contract extension.

There are two other editions of the game. The All-Star Edition with A'ja Wilson and Tatum on the cover, and the Hall of Fame Edition with Vince Carter gracing the cover.

On Monday, the ratings were released for some of the top players in the NBA. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James came in at a 95 rating, just below Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic, who all earned a 97 as the highest-rated in the game.

    1. Nikola Jokic — 97 overall

    2. Luka Doncic — 97 overall

    3. Giannis Antetokounmpo — 97 overall

    4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — 96 overall

    5. Joel Embiid — 96 overall

    6. LeBron James — 95 overall

    7. Stephen Curry — 95 overall

    8. Jayson Tatum — 95 overall

    9. Kevin Durant — 94 overall

    10. Anthony Davis — 94 overall

LeBron James is officially the 6th-highest on the list.

Last year, the Lakers star averaged 25.7 PPG with 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds on a 54 percent clip from the field and 41 percent from the three-point line.

Fans made sure to take note of James' rating, and most of them were in agreement that it was too low for one of the top players in the NBA.

"Literally was a 96 Last Year," one fan wrote. Another said, "Lol he's a 96 at least."

Others were just pointing out the fact that James, even at 39 years old, is still among the top players in the league.

    "39 years old btw."

"He should be Top 5 but the fact that he’s even ranked this high and going into year 22 is WILD!!!!!"

"My goat pushing 40 still a 95 overall."

"6th best player in the league in year 22, you’re favorite player could never."

It's quite the accomplishment for LeBron James and a testament to how great he has been through his career.

As the 2024-25 NBA season approaches, LeBron James will once again be involved in the best-in-the-game conversations, and for many reasons.

That’s straight bs I might not get 2k25 because of this move, like why Kryie wasn’t mentioned in the ratings. Lebron and Curry under 97 is bogus. Bye 2k it was fun 🤣🤣🤣💯
