Nebraska women’s hoops adds Croatian forward Petra Bozan

The Nebraska Cornhuskers women’s basketball team rounded out its squad with the addition of an international forward/center.

Petra Bozan, who led Croatia in both points and rebounds during the FIBA U18 Women’s Eurobasket earlier this month, arrived a Nebraska just in time for the start of the new semester.

Before that, she competed for KAZL Split in Croatia’s Premier League, earning second-team all-league honors, and also starred for her country at the 2022 and 2023 FIBA European Championships.

She adds another big presence for the Huskers to score and rebound down low, but also can stretch out to the three-point line, although that consistency is still a work in progress.

"We are thrilled to be adding Petra to our Husker women's basketball family," Huskers head coach Amy Williams said. "Her length, skill set and experience make her a perfect complement to our current roster, and we are excited to see her growth and development in a Husker uniform."

Nebraska will open the season with an exhibition contest against Doane on Oct. 27 before welcoming Omaha on Nov. 4.
