After what has felt like an incredibly long offseason, at last game week has arrived for the Texas A&M Aggies .

In just six days, the Aggies will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at home under the Kyle Field lights in what promises to be one of the marquee matchups in week one. It's been quite the offseason for A&M, raiding the transfer portal for talent after a large amount departed following the firing of Jimbo Fisher .

Mike Elko has come in during his first offseason and proved he is no slouch in the high school recruiting department either though, bringing in a 2025 class that has risen as high as top-five throughout the cycle and is almost guaranteed to finish top-ten.

But the product that Elko and the team put actually on the field in 2024 will show a real window into the kind of coach A&M hired. Despite turnover from last year's roster which obviously underachieved, the Aggies still have one of the most talented rosters in the entire nation.

Getting the most out of the supreme level of talent that is already in the room makes Texas A&M an instant playoff contender. On the flip side, if the program continues to get similar levels of production out of a star-studded roster, there's no reason to think things are going to improve.

With a healthy Conner Weigman back in the fold and a new mindset in the locker room, however, things are looking better in College Station than they have in a very long time.

Get ready Aggie fans, because the wait is over and it's finally here.
