Could Ex Cowboy Martavis Bryant Make Commanders Roster?

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Martavis Bryant may finally find redemption in the nation’s capital with the Washington Commanders. Following multiple suspensions, the former Pittsburgh Steeler, Oakland Raider, and Cowboys player was suspended indefinitely before the 2018 season ... and "indefinitely'' lasted a long time.

That was the last time that Bryant played in a regular-season game. His suspension was lifted and the Cowboys signed him to the practice squad last year, but he never made it to the field.

A few weeks ago, Bryant signed with the Commanders, who were willing to give him a shot. According to coach Dan Quinn, he made every moment count from the time he walked in the building.

"It's not easy to get jumped down and put in the middle of an offense or a defense and learning it," Quinn said. “And so, I was just really proud of him at the end. ... I was very excited for him."

The 6-4 Bryant caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in his lone preseason action on Sunday night, and his performance could land him on the active roster.

He is still fighting an uphill battle with the likes of Byron Pringle and Jamison Crowder also battling for a spot on the roster.

As roster cuts around the league continue, Bryant awaits his fate.
