The Detroit Tigers are on the verge of a significant milestone: reaching the .500 mark for the first time since June 5. After a strong performance against the Chicago White Sox, they now sit at 65 wins with just 31 games left in the season.

The Tigers have been on a roll, winning three straight games against the White Sox. If they secure another victory on Monday, they will achieve a .500 record for the first time since 2016. This is a notable achievement for a team that has struggled in recent years.

Historically, teams with losing records at this point in the season have a slim chance of finishing at .500 or better. However, a few have managed to turn their seasons around. The Tigers have done it four times in the past, showing that a late-season surge is possible.

"It's important," Hinch told reporters Sunday . "It's the next goal. Once you accomplish that, if we can do that, then we will reset the goals. … Everybody is chipping away at doing their part because we do want to have a winning team. That matters to this group."

While the Tigers are currently 10.5 games behind in the AL Central, they are only 7.5 games back in the wild-card race.

Their playoff chances, while slim, have improved recently. The team is focused on winning each game and building momentum as the season winds down.

Several players have been key to the Tigers' recent success. Outfielder Parker Meadows has been a standout since returning from injury, contributing significantly to the team's wins.

Additionally, Andy Ibañez has made headlines with his recent performances, including a memorable day spent with the Cuban Little League team.

As the Tigers look ahead, they have individual goals to pursue, including a potential Cy Young award for pitcher Tarik Skubal, who leads the American League in several key categories.

With a challenging schedule ahead, the Tigers are determined to keep their winning streak alive. They have a chance to make a statement in the coming weeks, and fans are hopeful for a strong finish to the season.
